Welcome to Holder Law Group LLC. We are located in Towson, Maryland, just north of Baltimore City. Our practice focuses on ERISA and employee benefits law. Our goal is to provide the highest quality legal services in a family and community oriented environment.

We advise and assist clients in designing, implementing, and administering 401(k) and other retirement plans, as well as health & welfare plans, including cafeteria and wraparound plans. Our services include:

  • Drafting and updating plans to comply with current law and regulations, including the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA) and the Internal Revenue Code

  • Drafting and reviewing summary plan descriptions, administrative forms, and employee communications

  • Answering day-to-day plan administration questions, such as those relating to 401(k) hardship withdrawal standards, retirement plan distribution events, cafeteria plan status changes, wellness plan rules, HIPAA privacy and security safeguards, and COBRA health care continuation issues

  • Developing strategies to facilitate compliance with laws impacting employer plans, including the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA)

  • Implementing HIPAA compliance programs, including preparing HIPAA privacy and security policies and procedures and negotiating business associate agreements

  • Assisting in correcting administrative errors and other plan compliance issues, using Internal Revenue Service and Department of Labor correction programs where appropriate

  • Representing clients in connection with Internal Revenue Service and Department of Labor examinations

  • Integrating employee benefits following corporate mergers, acquisitions and spin-offs
